The fact that a person running for the President of the United States, “Leader of the Free World”, etc., is equating going to college as being a “snob”, and doing so would force you to be “taught by some liberal college professor trying to indoctrinate them”, would be hilarious if it wasn’t true. But it is AND HE SAID THIS. A man who has an Undergrad degree (Pennsylvania State University, BA in Political Science, 1980), an MBA (University of Pittsburgh’s Katz Graduate School of Business, 1981), and a Juris Doctorate (Dickinson School of Law, 1986) SAID THIS.

Seriously, if you are in agreement with Santorum on this, unfriend me now, because you’re an idiot. 99% of the time, I can see and understand both sides of a political issue, and while I don’t sometimes agree, I know that there is sometimes room for compromise and diplomacy. This is not one of those times. THIS IS BEYOND THE PALE. The fact that people are CLAPPING and CHEERING for this man when he says this makes it VERY HARD for me to see how this country will survive. Furthering an education is NOT a negotiation; the more educated a nation, the better the workforce, the better the national industry, the better the technological, scientific and medical improvements and more rapid the breakthroughs, the better a NATION. Not that it takes a rocket scientist to understand this, and not that Santorum wants to even think you can try to BE one, either. Also, don’t try to argue with me that what he’s saying is that “not everyone is made to go to college”; I understand that not everyone is cut out to be a doctor, lawyer, psychologist, historian, etc.; but he’s blanketing ALL colleges, whether it’s a liberal arts college, a technical college, a trade school, a state university, etc. by saying this. His followers, upon hearing this, will determine that ALL COLLEGE = LIBERAL and never even consider for one moment that there is more to choose from than just being a widget-maker or a “liberal socialist commie” after high school.
